Nadia De Mattos
My name is Nadia De Mattos. I was born in Tacuarembó, República Oriental del Uruguay, on November 27th 1977. For those who are kind of lost, Uruguay is a small country between Argentina and Brazil, and NOOO!!!!! WE ARE NOT PART OF ARGENTINA!!!!! OR BRAZIL FOR THAT MATTER.

That being clarified…
I love filmmaking and I love to draw. These have been my passions since I can remember. That’s why after finishing with high school I enrolled at the University to pursue the closest thing to filmmaking in Uruguay, Audiovisual Communication. After 4 years, a diploma and wanting to learn more I was ready for a little trip. I arrived in Los Angeles on July 29th 2001, I attended LACC for three years and I got an AA in Cinema Production. My main skill is editing, but I love to be on a set too. I also like to draw storyboards and do 2D animation, so, after meeting Rafael in a small short from a mutual friend I agreed to do the storyboards for Zen, and later on do the still photography, and after that edit the movie!!!!!!

It’s been a busy ride, but a great experience. Right now I’m cutting through 70 hours of footage, and playing a little with some animation; and yeah, it’s a lot, and yeah it kind of drives you crazy at times, but I’m positive the result is going to be awesome. This is the greatest crew, and I really hope you can see Zen in the Art of Yardsailing in the near future.

OK, I did the bio, cumpli! So right now my neurona is too tired to think about directors and actresses and actors and movies. So I would have to add to the list of people that have already been mentioned, Chuck Jones, the greatest cartoonist ever!!!!!! Hayao Miyazaki all his movies are amazing, and two Uruguayan comic artists that I admire and that I have had the privilege to have as teachers, Tunda and Ombú.

Thank you and That’s all!!!!!!
